Ram Kumar directed Ratsasan, a 2018 Indian Tamil-language slasher film. Vishnu Vishal, Amala Paul, and Saravanan appear in the film, which also features Kaali Venkat, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, and Ramdoss in supporting parts. After his father's death, an ambitious filmmaker becomes a police officer and attempts to track down a serial killer in the film.

Ghibran composed the music and background soundtrack for the film, which was shot by P. V. Shankar and edited by San Lokesh. Principal photography began in June 2017 after production began in November 2016. The film was released on October 5, 2018, to critical acclaim and commercial success, grossing a total of 50.54 crores globally.

Rakshasudu (2019), directed by Ramesh Varma and starring Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Anupama Parameswaran, is a Telugu remake of Ratsasan. The makers also wanted Ratsasan to be recreated in Hindi, despite the fact that it was dubbed Main Hoon Dandadhikari in Hindi.

Movie-

               Arun Kumar is a budding filmmaker who dreams of making a film about psychopaths. He joins his sister Kokila, Doss, and their daughter Ammu at their new home. He befriends Viji's niece, Kayal, who is deaf and hard of hearing.

Samyuktha, a hearing-impaired girl from Viji's school, is taken and slaughtered. Dr Nandan, a pathologist, believes that the perpetrator used a similar method as Samyuktha. The investigation leads to Inbaraj, a teacher at Ammu's new school. Inbaraj is a pedophile who subjects young women to irrumatio. Ammu nearly avoids Inbaraj when Arun apprehends him after receiving a tip from another victim, Sharmi. Although Inbaraj acknowledges being a sexual predator, he disputes the charges of murder. In an attempt to flee, he holds Venkat, a police officer, at gunpoint, but Arun shoots Inbaraj.

Meera is kidnapped and murdered by a lady magician, Arun discovers her body in their car trunk. He tries to warn Sanjana, but she is kidnapped despite continual observation. Arun and his squad track her down and save her from killer Mary Fernandez.

Rajamanickam depicts the story of Mary's son Christopher, who suffers from Werner Syndrome (progeria), a hormonal disease that makes him appear older than he is. Christopher develops affection for Sophia but is crushed when she rejects him due to his impotency.

Arun discovers that Rajamanickam had pieced together information from images, showing that Christopher, masquerading as Mary, had died in an accident years before. Arun locates Christopher in a timely manner, kills him, and saves Kayal after a long fight.
