Extraction 2
American action thriller Extraction 2, written and directed by Sam Hargrave, is set to release in 2023. It is based on Ande Parks, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Fernando León González, and Eric Skillman's comic novel Ciudad. In this Extraction sequel, Chris Hemsworth, Golshifteh Farahani, and Adam Bessa play the same characters as in the first movie, while important roles are played by Tornike Gogrichiani, Tornike Bziava, Tinatin Dalakishvili, Daniel Bernhardt, Olga Kurylenko, and Idris Elba. In the movie, Tyler Rake is first paid to break out of a Georgian prison and save the family of a violent crime boss.
Netflix revealed a sequel in May 2020, with Joe Russo returning to write, Hargrave returning to direct, and Hemsworth reprising his role as the main character, after the original film's successful release. Joe and his brother Anthony had anticipated by December that the follow-up would give the characters enough depth to launch a film universe. The COVID-19 pandemic caused a delay in the filming schedule, which was originally set to commence in Sydney in September 2021 and end in Vienna in April 2022. Eventually, filming began in Prague in November. The Russos, Hargrave, and Hemsworth all made a comeback, and Henry Jackman and Alex Belcher also came back to write the score.
On June 16, 2023, Netflix published Extraction 2, which received favorable reviews from critics for its performances, action scenes, and technical components.
Movie-
Tyler Rake goes into retirement from mercenary employment and retreats to a lodge in Austria to heal after narrowly escaping a prior assignment in Dhaka. Later, a stranger approaches Tyler and requests that he save Ketevan, the sister of Mia's ex-wife Tyler, and her two kids, Sandro and Nina. Ketevan wed Davit Radiani, a co-leader of the Nagazi, Georgia's biggest criminal organization, which Davit and his brother Zurab established. Davit was imprisoned when he threw a DEA agent from a roof, and the Americans' pressure prevented him from bribing his way out. To prevent Ketevan and her kids from leaving him, Davit has them move into the prison. However, because of the subpar living circumstances and Davit's cruelty, Ketevan calls Mia for assistance.
Nik and her brother Yaz are enlisted by Tyler, and together they penetrate the prison with the aid of a guard who has been bought off. But when the inmates find out, a riot breaks out. Devit attacks Tyler and Ketevan during the extraction, and Tyler kills him. After battling through the uprising, Tyler and Ketevan board an armored train. They flee to Vienna by plane after fending off corrupt soldiers and Nagazi forces. However, Sandro, who had looked up to his father and was affected by the Nagazi's cult-like loyalty, contacts Zurab in secret and tells him where they are. Tyler and his group are located in Vienna in their DC Towers safehouse, where Zurab and his men attack them. Ketevan chastises Sandro for putting his own family at risk and for being so ignorant. Sandro leaves his mother behind and goes to join Zurab in the mayhem.
The crew escapes on one of Zurab's helicopters after taking out the majority of his troops, but Zurab mortally wounds Yaz. The group withdraws to Tyler's cabin, where Mia is reunited with him and Ketevan. Tyler regrets the final memory he had of Tyler being gone from him, and he apologizes to Mia for going on a mission before their son passed away from cancer. Avtandil, Zurab's uncle and right-hand man, dissuades Zurab from pursuing retribution to save more losses and to provide a better example for his nephew. Zurab, not willing to give up, murders Avtandil and calls Tyler, arranging a rendezvous at an airfield next to a church. To avoid endangering Nik's life, Tyler leaves her behind and travels to the airfield. After killing the last of the Nagazi, Tyler discovers Sandro and Zurab inside the cathedral; Sandro is wearing an explosive vest.
Sandro is forced to seize Tyler's pistol by Zurab, but he doesn't shoot Tyler because he realizes his error and the true nature of Davit and Zurab. When Nik shows up, he takes the vest off and Tyler battles to kill Zurab. Police apprehend and detain Nik and Tyler. When Mia sees Tyler, she lets him know that although Ketevan and her kids have been placed into protective custody, their assets have been blocked. Tyler instructs her to deliver them the $1 million in cash that is stashed beneath his cabin's floorboards. When their son passes away, Mia reassures Tyler that his father is a hero. After being released from jail, Tyler and Nik are brought to see the stranger, who gives them a new task in exchange for their release.
